The school's governing body sets policy regarding holidays during term time and can allow up to ten days for holidays.
Be sure to first discuss the matter with the school's head teacher. If you wish to take your child out of school during term time for longer than ten days, permission must be granted from the governing body. However, in some circumstances the head teacher might be responsible for making this decision. If the head teacher rejects your request, you can appeal to the governing body. However, unless they consider the request to be exceptional circumstances, it is unlikely that the governing body will agree to more than ten days' holiday.
