Based on resolver’s experience to date, a Solar Panel installation is a credit agreement, which is covered by the Consumer Credit Act. This gives you some important rights including:
• what information you must be given before and after you sign the credit agreement, so that you know what you are signing up to
• whether you can cancel the agreement and how to do this
• what happens if you want to pay the agreement off early.
You can cancel the credit agreement at any time before you sign the agreement or within 14 days of signing it. You don’t have to give a reason.

If you cannot resolve your issue you cannot raise your case to the Ombudsman until 8 weeks after you have first raised your complaint with your insurer, or you have received a ‘letter of deadlock’ from the company stating that they cannot resolve the issue as you have asked.
