Court decision on delayed flights could mean compensation revolution

A court case verdict over late-flights compensation due to a technical fault has found in favour of the consumer.

This will mean that an airline can no longer refuse to pay out compensation under European late plane regulation if it claims a technical fault with the aircraft. Around 30% of all compensation complaint cases are rejected by commercial airlines because of this issue, so there is a potential for a lot more complaints coming through to the airlines!!!

Since you can backdate claims over six years, there are a number of claims rejected by airlines that could now be challenged.

This is massive news and could cost the airlines industry up to £500 million. The industry is either trying to reject or ignore complaints from consumers when asking for compensation.

The impact of this is going to be a rise in the number of Claims Management Companies (CMC) driving complaints and costing the airlines even more in administration and taking away consumer trust in the airline industry.
