We're set to add around 10,000 legal firms to the Resolver system before the end of the month (October), and the likelihood of your legal complaint being swiftly resolved is greatly improved, thanks to the latest announcement from the Legal Ombudsman (LeO).

LeO is telling law firms that, although it doesn't actively endorse third-party complaint resolution services such as Resolver, it will engage with them.

Chief Legal Ombudsman Adam Sampson said: “We don’t endorse any commercial third-party providers of complaint resolution services. However, where such services are offered and used by consumers, we will engage with providers to ensure the complaint is handled as quickly and effectively as possible.

“Our priority is ensuring that consumers know where to complain and when, while lawyers should be confident that each complaint will be dealt with professionally and fairly.”

The message to law firms is clear: if they ignore or fail to resolve a case via Resolver, the Ombudsman WILL take it on.

This is of course something that switched-on law firms would want to avoid - not only is getting involved with the ombudsman messy and time-consuming for them, it's also an expensive process.

More power to Resolver!
