If you board a train and find your seat is not reserved, you should immediately speak to the guard who should try their best to seat you elsewhere. If you end up having to stand for all or part of the journey, you are entitled to a full refund for the Single fare and any booking fee that was charged from the train company. You can claim this by writing to the train operator within 28 days and a complaint about what has occurred.
