Know your rights

There’s no jargon in our rights guides. Instead, they’re full of the info you need to get things sorted. We’ll always be on hand with guidance and support to help you get the results you’re looking for.

Get your voice heard

You can be certain that you’re talking to the right person at the right time. We automatically connect you to contacts at thousands of household names, ombudsmen and regulators to find a resolution.

Based on resolver’s experience to date, if you haven’t used a normal single or return ticket, you can get a full refund if you return it to the train company within 28 days of the ticket expiry date, though you will probably have to pay an administration fee. If you bought an advance ticket, these are non-refundable. If you are in any way unsure of your right to a refund, you should contact the train company for advice. If you are not happy with the response you receive, your next port of call is either London Travelwatch at enquiries@londontravelwatch.org.uk (for the London area) or Passenger Focus at advice@passengerfocus.org.uk (for outside London). resolver can assist you in submitting, recording and reminding you when and who to escalate to.
