Based on resolver’s experience to date, if you have bought an extended warranty that lasts more than a year, you are perfectly entitled to cancel it and can nearly always expect to receive a full or partial refund.

If you bought it less than 45 days ago and have not made a claim, you can cancel and request a full refund. If it was more than 45 days since the purchase or you have made a claim, you can still cancel the warranty and ask for a partial refund. Very occasionally the warranty will state that no refund will be given if a claim has already been made.

If your warranty provider refuses to cancel your policy and refund you some or all of the cost, resolver recommends that you ask for their complaints procedure and follow it accordingly. Resolver can assist you in submitting, recording and reminding you when and who to escalate to.
