However, you should check your policy carefully before you make a claim as certain exclusions may apply. If your policy covers the damage which has occurred to your phone simply contact your insurer and state that you wish to make a claim for replacement of your phone under your insurance policy. You will need to have your policy documents to hand, and may also be required to send the damaged phone into your insurer for assessment or repair.

If you have home contents insurance, check your policy as you may be covered under accidental damage, although if you make a claim this way your contents insurance renewal premium may rise and you will lose any no claims bonus that you may have accrued. You should report the accidental damage to your insurer as soon as possible as failing to do so could delay any repair or replacement.
