Here's what some of our 1,447,486 users had to say

I had a problem with a faulty meter, The electricity company would not replace it as 'in two years time we will get smart meters anyway' So I would need to pay £200 pounds a year more. No other company would accept me as I had a faulty meter. In two days after using Resolver, they have agreed to replace my meter.

Afternoon all, Just thought I'd write in with a quick success story. Passed my test last year, took my first policy with Diamond in May 2014. Come renewal, Diamond wanted £1600 to renew - comparison results consistently showed Elephant/Admiral as lowest at ~£850. Diamond matched their quotes straight up since they're all just trading names of EUI. Last week went to refresh the quote on Confused.com (didn't change any details), and a new quote came up at ~£650 - again, it was Elephant. A bit of shopping around and eventually Google Compare returned an Admiral quote at £629. Rang Diamond who were unwilling to match the quote as they can only do that at renewal time, so I arranged to cancel and after a £49.50 cancellation charge I was due a refund of £700 - so effectively I saved £70 and got an extra 1½ months work of car insurance, the only downside being I lost the extra year of NCB that 1½ months was building towards (not a biggy). Took the policy with Admiral, raised a case on Resolver with Diamond with regards to the cancellation charge (since I'm still an EUI Limited customer) and now that fee is being refunded too. (They refused initially but agreed after I held my ground.) Net result - ~£130 cash back in my bank account and an extra ~1.5 months insurance.

General advice on payday loans

Don’t treat payday loans as a regular way to make ends meet - if you repeatedly take out loans, you may find that the repayments become more expensive than the interest on a credit card. Payday loans should be for emergencies only.

Make sure you have enough income to repay. Most payday loans companies will make sure you do with some sort of income check, but it’s best to carefully assess your own finances before taking the plunge

Tell the truth. When going through the application process for a payday loan, you need to be honest, or the payday loan company may end up handing you money you can’t pay back. This could easily lead to spiralling, out-of-control debt

Make sure you’re aware of all charges - there can be hidden extras above and beyond the hefty interest on late repayments. Most responsible lenders will detail these on their website - make sure you check the small print carefully

If you’re unemployed, forget it - if you have a part-time job or no guaranteed source of regular income, then it’s too much of a risk for the lender. No responsible payday loan company will approve a loan for you.

Payday loans can become really difficult to manage, especially if you’re late with repayments. For advice on alternative options or how best to handle serious financial problems, get in touch with the Money Advice Service.

Pounds to Pocket is a payday loan lender that offers larger sums than many payday or short-term loan organisations. It is a sub-brand of Cash EuroNetUK.

As well as offering bigger payday loans than many of its rivals (from £200 up to £2000), Pounds to Pocket provides a lower APR interest rate than is normal for a payday loan lender. In fact, as a representative example, Pounds to Pocket offers 278% APR at a fixed interest rate of 140% per year on a 12-month loan.

The other notable aspect of Pounds to Pocket’s service is that it offers monthly repayments over a 6 to 12-month term. This long-term repayment can make the loans relatively more expensive than ones with a higher interest rate but a shorter repayment period. There should be no hidden extra fees with Pounds to Pocket payday loans, however.

If you feel that Pounds to Pocket hasn't acted in the way it has promised to, then resolver will help guide you through your payday loan complaint.
